Hello stakeholders! This month, Rancho Cordova Travel & Tourism staff Marc Sapoznik and Leena Riggs attended DMA West's Tech Summit in Spokane, WA.

Destination Management Association of The West: Tech Summit

The summit highlighted Spokane's growth through partnership of their tourism stakeholders and parks district, the importance of Google Analytics: what it tells you, who's searching for you/how, the affect of Google within the tourism industry and discussions on digital strategies. RCTT will continue to benefit from this event from this event as we explore a new brand, website and strategy for our organization.

From April 11-13th representatives from Tempest (digital marketing agency) will be visiting Rancho Cordova. Tempest plans to re-brand RCTT and craft the new website (set to launch in Q4)

"Tempest is excited to partner with Rancho Cordova Travel & Tourism to bring the destination to life online. We’re looking forward to immersing ourselves in the local community, discovering opportunities to showcase Rancho Cordova to travel planners nationwide. Our goal is to create an authentic experience online that inspires travelers to discover local attractions and businesses, driving economic growth and prosperity for the Rancho Cordova community," Jenny Rose, Director of Client Services.

With Facebook's new algorithm, your social media coordinator may be a tad anxious (and rightfully so). Rather than bemoaning lost Facebook fans and "likes", update your strategy. Engage your audience with information rather than interrupting their feeds with ads/deals. This approach to an audience builds trust and more productive engagements.

"Give yourself more control over how you reach your audience. Use social media to get your followers to subscribe to your email list. Email sign-up forms are one of the best ways to help transition your audience from social platforms where you have less control to your “owned” properties. This approach lets you continue to leverage social platforms without falling victim to an algorithm change because you control your email database." Gillooly, Entrepreneur Network

To ensure your posts on all social media are consistent, consider a scheduling platform! Rancho Cordova Travel & Tourism has done a fair amount of testing with different scheduling platforms and is happy to discuss them with you! Reach out to leena@visitranchocordova.com
