The Nisenan, Miwok, Cayuse, Umatilla, and Walla Walla peoples are the traditional inhabitants of the unceded lands and territories of Rancho Cordova, Sacramento, and the surrounding region. These communities have stewarded the area's waterways, grasslands, oak woodlands, and natural resources for time immemorial.

🏃‍♂️ Start the Celebration with the All America Mile & 4th of July Parade

Start your Independence Day celebration on July 4 with the Rancho Cordova All America Mile. Beginning at 9:00 AM on Coloma Road, this one-mile race welcomes participants of all ages and experience levels. The first 250 racers receive free admission, while the next 250 participants can join for just five dollars. The race will be capped at 500 runners.

Once the race wraps up, the excitement continues with the free Rancho Cordova 4th of July Parade at 10:00 AM. As the longest Fourth of July parade in Sacramento County, it showcases community spirit, colorful handmade floats, community organizations, and plenty of patriotic pride. Bring your festive energy and get ready to celebrate alongside hundreds of cheering spectators.

Travel Tip: Street closures will affect portions of Coloma Road. Arrive early, wear sunscreen, and bring a camping chair for comfortable parade viewing.

🎡 What to Expect at the Two-Day Festival

Rancho Cordova brings the summer fun on July 3 and July 4, with a 2-day festival spectacular packed with exciting activities for all ages. Hagan Park transforms into an Americana wonderland where you can wander through carnival games, enjoy family-friendly rides, and discover tasty treats from a variety of food vendors and food trucks.

Music wafts through the air from live bands as awestruck spectators watch daring stunt performances by It's Showtime Circus. A beer and wine garden offers a relaxing space for adults to unwind.

Travel Tip: Purchase admission tickets and ride wristbands online before the event for the best value, as prices go up at the gate. On-site parking is available for $10, cash only.

🥧 Bring Your Appetite for Competitive Eating Contests

Nothing says classic Americana quite like a good old-fashioned eating contest. To help celebrate America's 250th anniversary, this year's festival introduces three spirited competitions: watermelon eating, hot dog eating, and pie eating. We hope you saved space for dessert!

Each contest will feature five pre-registered competitors, along with three participants selected from the crowd. Even if you don't secure a registration spot, you still have a chance to join the fun on event day. Spectators can expect plenty of laughs, friendly competition, and memorable moments.

Travel Tip: Competitive eating participants must be at least 18 years old.

🎆 Experience One of the Best Fireworks Shows in the Sacramento Area

The grand finale of the Rancho Cordova Fourth of July Spectacular is a fireworks show that has earned legendary status throughout the region. Many attendees consider it one of the best Sacramento fireworks displays, drawing visitors from across Northern California. Spectators have reported seeing the fireworks from cities as far away as Rocklin.

The dazzling fireworks and drone display set to music happens at the end of both days of the festival, making it easy for families to choose the day that works best for them. Excitement builds throughout the show before culminating in a breathtaking patriotic finale.

Travel Tip: Expect heavier traffic following the fireworks display. Please be patient as you exit Hagan Park and the parking lot.
