What started as underwater entertainment in aquariums and theme parks (you might have heard of the iconic Weeki Wachee Springs Mermaids in Florida, dating back to 1947) has grown into a global cosplay and lifestyle movement known as "mermaiding."
Today, professional mermaids perform wearing tails at pools, aquariums, and festivals, while hobbyist “pods” of mermaids gather to swim, share techniques, and spread a love of the ocean at conventions and local events.

The California Mermaid Convention offers flexible ticket options for every level of interest! Select a full convention pass, add optional special experience tickets, or choose an affordable observer pass if you just want to look around.
This event is designed to make waves for everyone! The California Mermaid Convention is family-friendly, offering special programs tailored for both adults and kids. Only vetted mermaid performers are allowed in the Kids' Lagoon. Adults swim separately in the main pool. Lifeguards watch over all the fun, all weekend long.
