How to Ride Light Rail
The 42.9-mile light rail system consists of three rail lines and 54 stations operating 365 days a year by the Sacramento Regional Transit District (SacRT). The Gold Line can deliver you to points of interest in Rancho Cordova, Downtown Sacramento, and the surrounding areas.
Each weekday, the Gold Line light rail trains run from 4 a.m. to midnight, with service every 15 minutes during the day and every 30 minutes for some early morning and late evening trips. On weekends, service ends at 10:30 p.m.

You can travel to multiple stops beyond Rancho Cordova on the Gold Line. In addition, you can discover even more great places to visit when you use the Gold Line to connect you to the Blue Line train (weekday service till midnight and weekends till 10:30 p.m.) and the Green Line train (service Monday through Friday).

Staying in town? Pick up your Light Rail schedule at your hotel to plan your excursions. Fares for the Light Rail are both affordable and convenient. Basic fares for those 19 to 61 are $2.50 for a single ticket or $7.00 for a daily pass. Senior citizens (62+), persons with disabilities, and students (grades K-12) can ride for $1.25 for a single ticket or $3,50 for a daily pass. Single ride tickets are valid for 90 minutes from the time of validation.
You can easily get your single ticket or daily passes with the Connect Card, the ZipPass, or fare vending machines. The Connect Card is an electronic transit fare payment system you can purchase online or at participating Raleys and BelAir stores. This reloadable smart card is embedded with a computer chip that stores Cash Value, passes, and discount fares. If apps are more your style, download SacRT's ZipPass mobile app and purchase single trip passes through your smartphone. Or, buy your single ticket at one of SacRT's fare vending machines found on all three of SacRT's light rail lines using cash or major credit cards.
