From family outings, relaxing picnics, and doggy heaven to paved bike paths, sports competitions and river exploration, Hagan Community Park is a hub for all things outdoor entertainment. Joggers and bikers alike have both Hagan Community Park and quick access to its border, the American River Parkway. The Parkway’s Jedidiah Smith Memorial Trail, is recognized as one of the longest paved bike trails in the US, stretching over an impressive 32 miles!
Every year, major community events like Kids Day in the Park or the huge 4th of July celebrations are put on by the CCC at the heart of Hagan Community Park for all to enjoy. With grassy areas prime for playtime and events, you and the kids can enjoy the many picnic areas, tranquil ponds, and vibrant playgrounds that Hagan Park has to offer.
Want your dog to join in on the fun too? At nearly 2.5 acres, Hagan Community Dog Park is the perfect place for dogs to play, train, and socialize with others. For your convenience, the dog park is also separated into sections for both smaller and larger breeds of dogs. And, just like their owners, dogs need community event too, so don’t forget to bring your pups out for the annual Doggie Day in the Park in September!
For those looking to cool off, there’s only a $5 entry fee to enjoy the Cordova Community Pool in Hagan Park. Featuring a children’s activity pool, a large 10-lane competition pool with 8 deep lanes, 2 shallow lanes, a diving board, depths that vary from 3.5 feet to 12 feet, and shaded grassy areas to relax, the Cordova Community Pool is new, improved, and has swimmers of all ages and skill sets covered.
Choo Choo! Preserving the wonder of the railroad’s steam era lies the Sacramento Valley Live Steamers Railroad Museum. Nestled along the eastern border of Hagan Community Park, visitors can hop aboard a miniature ten-wheeler steam locomotive with the family as it departs along 6,800 feet of scenic tree covered railway.
Looking to reserve some event space? The Hagan Park Community Center, Cordova Community Pool and the surrounding park offer reservation opportunities to all park goers. Hagan Park’s vast amenities offer prime real estate for athletic recreation, reunions, private parties, wedding receptions, and other larger group festivities.
