Wineries
Adventure to the world-class wine tasting in the nearby Sierra Foothills wine regions of El Dorado, Sacramento, and Amador counties!
Located only 1.5 hours up the freeway from Rancho Cordova, it's easy to see why Lake Tahoe is a quintessential Northern California vacation spot. Its sparkling waters and gorgeous tree-lined mountains draw a crowd every summer, and the snow-covered slopes attract avid skiers and snowboarders every winter. Booking your hotel in Rancho Cordova makes Tahoe an easy, economical day trip.
Does your group love staying active in the great outdoors? There are plentiful hiking trails, picturesque lookout points, and watersport rentals (like these clear-bottomed kayaks) in the area. Looking for something more laid-back? We recommend packing a swimsuit and lounging at Pope Beach or Emerald Bay. Lake Tahoe also rests on the state line between California and Nevada, providing ample access to casinos and delicious restaurants where you can have even more fun before heading back to your hotel room.
Sacramento is just a hop, skip, and a jump down the 50 freeway from Rancho Cordova and is a great hotspot for nightlife! Restaurants like Paesanos (Italian) or Zócalo (Mexican) are fan-favorite locations for swanky patio dining under twinkling lights.
Up for a little friendly competition? Coin-Op is an adults-only bar and arcade filled with many classic favorites like Ms. Pacman, Tron, and skee-ball. If your group likes to dance, put on your little black dress and dancing shoes for a night at MIX Downtown or Mango's Nightclub. These contemporary clubs offer great music, drinks, and even drag queen shows!
There's nothing like wine country! If you choose to venture east of Rancho Cordova, explore wineries in El Dorado and Amador County. We highly recommend Boeger Winery for their jammy barbera or Lewis Grace Winery for tastings of reds, whites, and desserts amongst beautiful vineyard views. Starfield Vineyards offers romantic views, delicious bites, and custom artisanal cheese pairings to go with your wine. Apple Hill in nearby Placer County is also home to several breweries and restaurants like Jack Russel Brewing or Blue Barn Provisions.
Napa Valley, located west of Rancho Cordova, offers rolling hills of vineyards and gourmet restaurants that will make your whole party swoon. Downtown Napa is very quaint. Stop by JaM Cellars to find California-famous wines and live music, Bounty Hunter Wine Bar & Smokin' BBQ for cocktails with a country twist, or Filippi's Pizza Grotto for classic Italian. Head to Oxbow Public Market for a large collection of breweries, bakeries, and boutiques.
As you recover from your adventures the next day, start with brunch at Rancho Cordova's Mimosa House in Capitol Village. Known for their mimosa flights with dozens of flavor options and locally sourced ingredients, everyone in your group will find something to love on the menu. Next, schedule an afternoon of massages, facials, and mani-pedis for all of your party guests at the Spa at Rancho Murietta Inn. Group packages are available so your whole party can enjoy a little luxury.
Rancho Cordova is also home to the Barrel District, a collection of craft breweries, distilleries, a meadery, and a wine tasting room. Put a few locations on your list and take your time as you sip your way through the city. We highly recommend Drink Eezy for a glass of wine in their luxurious, feminine bar space, or J.J. Pfister Distilling Co. for dinner and cocktails.
When you book your Rancho Cordova hotel through any booking widget on our website, you'll also be eligible to receive a complimentary gift card of your choice to use on your stay. One of the available gift cards is for J.J.'s, helping you save even more on your delicious dinner.
