Sacramento Children’s Museum (SCM) is a nonprofit educational and cultural institution that provides exciting, hands-on learning opportunities for children ages birth-8 in the Greater Sacramento region. They are on a mission to spark a passion for lifelong learning. This is the perfect place for young children to enjoy imagination play, S.T.E.M. activities, interactive exhibits, hands-on art projects, family events, and more!
Sensory Friendly Play
Sensory Play is a fully accessible, free program for children with any special needs, including those on the autism spectrum, their siblings and friends. Sessions include modified open play and special programming. These 90-minutes play sessions will be held monthly on the first Thursday of every month from 3:30-5:00 pm. Blue Star Museum
Sacramento Children’s Museum is proud to be a Blue Star Museum! From Armed Forces Day (May 17) through Labor Day (September 1), they offer free admission to active-duty military personnel and their families through the Blue Star Museums program. Year-round, they also offer a military discount: $8 admission with valid active or retired military ID.
Museums for All
Through Museums for All, families receiving food assistance (SNAP benefits) can gain free or reduced admission to more than 1,500 museums throughout the United States simply by presenting their EBT card and a photo ID.
