Rancho Cordova, Calif. – Visit Rancho Cordova, the official tourism organization for Rancho Cordova, has given its free-to-use Barrel District Passport a makeover for 2023. Launched a little over a year ago, the Barrel District Passport promotes the Rancho Cordova Barrel District, a collection of six breweries, two distilleries and a meadery.
“We’re excited with this revamping of our already popular Barrel District Passport,” said Leena Riggs, Visit Rancho Cordova’s director of marketing and partnerships. “The establishments are still your favorite Rancho Cordova watering holes, but we’ve added new prizes, a new points system and a new aesthetic.”
The passport, which gamifies the Barrel District experience, allows visitors and locals to collect points as they visit various Barrel District locations. Points accrued can then be used to redeem prizes, including a rotating, monthly mystery prize. Items regularly up for grabs include t-shirts, hoodies, trucker hats, mugs, pint glasses and more.
Launched in November 2021, the Barrel District Passport is the result of a partnership between Visit Rancho Cordova and Bandwango, a technology company specializing in connecting people to destinations through gamified pass experiences.
To sign up for the Barrel District Passport, you merely register with your name, e-mail address and mobile phone number. After signing up, a link is sent to your mobile phone, which opens the passport and directs the user to add the button icon to their home screen, where they can access it any time.
“The best thing about the Barrel District Passport is it’s free,” said Riggs. “You just simply sign up and you’re ready to go. There’s no app to download and your pass can be saved to your phone’s home screen for easy access.”
The revamped pass is built around a points system. As you travel around the Barrel District, you’ll use the passport to check-in at each establishment. Each check-in is worth 100 points. Collect enough points and you can win prizes.
