At the Neal S. Blaisdell Concert Hall in Honolulu, Koy sold 23,000 tickets for 11 sold-out performances in 2017, breaking the previous record for the most tickets sold by a single artist. In response, "Jo Koy Day" was declared on November 24 by the Honolulu mayor's office. By being the only comedian to sell out six performances at The Warfield in San Francisco, the comedian maintained his habit of breaking records. With four sold-out performances, he subsequently smashed the attendance record at Winnipeg's Club Regent Event Center. Koy had the most straight sold-out performances for a comedian in 2019 with five sold-out performances at the San Diego Civic Theatre. He just made history at the Brea Improv by becoming the only comedian to sell 17,000+ tickets over 30 events (in one year).
At the 2018 Just For Laughs Comedy Festival in Montreal, he received the renowned "Stand-Up Comedian Of The Year" award. On Comedy Central and Netflix, he has four critically acclaimed and commercially successful comedy specials. His Comin' In Hot Netflix special from 2019 is currently available to stream everywhere. Koy is on a quest to inform the public on a variety of topics, including how to raise a millennial and the nuances of Filipino customs.
In 2019, the comedian's stand-up comedy album, Live From Seattle, debuted at the top of the Billboard Charts. He may also be heard on Starburns Audio's The Koy Pond with Jo Koy, a weekly podcast. Each week, Koy invites friends and fellow comedians to share their amusing life lessons with the audience.
Koy has participated in roundtable discussions on more than 140 episodes of Chelsea Lately. The Late Late Show with James Corden, Jimmy Kimmel Live, Last Call with Carson Daly, Lights Out with David Spade, @Midnight with Chris Hardwick, Beat Bobby Flay, The Breakfast Club, Celebrity Page TV, World's Funniest Fails, and Sean in the Wild are just a few of the other shows in which they have appeared.
