Big Day of Giving
May 6th is the Big Day of Giving! Sacramento Children's Museum is celebrating its 10 year anniversary this year. Donors who contribute to a fundraising page that raises $500 or more for the Big Day of Giving will receive a special anniversary coloring book as a 'thank you!'
Support us for Big Day of Giving, or donate on our website! One hundred percent of donations go to creating new exhibits, maintaining existing exhibits, planning and supplying our classes, creating special events, supporting sensory-friendly programming for our visitors with special needs, and offering free access and programming for families in need. Everything that sparks a child's wonder at our museum is because of our generous donors.Kala Haley-ClarkDirector of Museum Advancement
Meet Kala!
Joining the team early in 2020, Kala has been focused on expanding virtual programing, drive-by events, renovations, and museum expansion.
What are you most looking forward to opening day?
Seeing our visitors’ fascinated faces again!
What’s your favorite new exhibit?
Definitely our Beehive. When I was a teenager I watched the bees in my mom’s lavender plants for hours on end. Seeing a whole hive of bees in the museum reminds me of being young and awestruck, which is what our museum is all about.
We agree! Locals and visitors alike have always been inspired by the sensory and educational experiences of this community treasure.
Who’s your favorite character?
Mr. Noodles. He’s always excited to try new things – he already has his beekeeper outfit ready to go!
What’s your favorite virtual/not-in-person program from Sacramento Children's Museum
Denver the Adventure Seeker is so much fun!
Pro tip!! Follow Sacramento Children's Museum on Instagram @sackids!
What’s your favorite in-person program from SCM?
Our Story Factory creative play is as fun as it gets. I was a theater kid from a young age, and I still love how much pretend play can teach me about myself and others.
Tell us something about Leo
Leo is not a frog, alien, or monster; he is your friend. His favorite holiday is Talk Like a Pirate Day in September.

Consider a Corporate Partnership
Support the Museum all year long and with multi-year sponsorships available, showcase your Rancho Cordova business in the Sacramento Children's Museum.
Their support can endear our nearly one hundred thousand annual museum visitors and one hundred corporate partners and can elevate their presence throughout the region. We pride ourselves on being a beloved member of our community, and fifteen percent of our regional museum visits are from our own neighbors in Rancho Cordova. However, our draw extends far beyond our region - over half of our museum’s visitors since 2011 came from farther than 25 miles away.Kala Haley-ClarkDirector of Museum Advancement
We can't wait to return with our out-of-town visitors to the Sacramento Children's Museum. Check out the Visit Rancho Cordova Cityways exhibit and explore Rancho Cordova restaurants after your trip to the newly expanded and renovated Sacramento Children's Museum.
